Full, Feathery, and just the right amount of Boldness

Brow Lamination is the hottest brow trend of 2020-2021. If you’re looking for something new to spice up your beautiful brows, keep on reading as you’re about to fall head over heels.

In this blog post, we will be discussing what Brow Lamination is and all of the most frequently asked questions about this amazing (and my personal fav) service!

So what is Brow Lamination and where did it come from?

Brow Lamination is a treatment where we “relax” the brow hairs, softening the disulfide bonds in the hair & thus allowing them to be molded into an elongated, fuller shape. After that, we neutralize and strengthen the hair so your beautiful results can last for 4-6 weeks.

Essentially, lamination acts as a semi-permanent brow gel allowing you to brush your brows into any style desired (once the first 24 hours have passed) & hold its shape.

Lamination not only makes your eyebrows appear fuller but makes them way more manageable, eliminating your need for brow makeup.

Brow Lamination originated in Russia and quickly made its way around the globe. Here at The Wax Boutique, we use only top of the line products. Our Lamination solutions come from Barcelona, Spain, and have been heavily tested with their ingredients also being regulated.

So what else do you need to know?!

Here are some FAQs…

Will my eyebrows stay shiny like the photos I see online?

No! What we mainly see in social media posts is a photo immediately after the service is performed. This is known as the “shiny stage” because we apply a regenerating cream to the brow at the end of the appointment which gives off this sheen. After 24 hours you can wash your eyebrows and they will be full, feathery, and have a healthy natural shine to them!

Will Lamination make my brows hard, crunchy, and stuck in one position?

This is a common misconception about Brow Lamination. After 24 hours, you will wash the brow area and then they can easily be brushed in any direction desired! Initially, after your appointment, they are still setting and strengthening so they will be a tad bold the first day. Your brows should NEVER be crunchy or hard after lamination!

Is there a lot of aftercare?

Amazingly, no! The most important thing is not getting your eyebrows wet for 24 hours which would include avoiding excess heat, steam, and sweating. Also, be mindful to not rub your eyebrows for the first day while they are still “setting!” The only vital continuous aftercare is applying a nourishing serum to your brows every night. This will keep your brows healthy & moisturized.

How long does the service take and how long should my results last?

In total the treatment will only take about an hour and a half, including tinting, which is highly recommended. We also include brow shaping and waxing with our lamination services to make your brows absolutely flawless! Results should last 4-6 weeks for the lamination and 2-4 weeks for the tint color, however, results may vary based on your personal hair growth, texture, & lifestyle. With proper aftercare, an individual may be able to get up to 8 weeks out of their lamination!

How long before I can get my brows laminated again?

Again, this is highly dependent on the individual’s brow hair. Some clients may be able to come back in four weeks while others may have to wait for the full six weeks. Everyone’s hair growth cycle is different and we highly recommend a brow consult if you are unsure!

Another amazing thing about Lamination is that when you continue with the treatment consecutively, your brow hair actually forms a memory and will become more manageable in the long run.

Does Brow Lamination damage my eyebrows?

When properly performed by a Licensed & Certified Technician and appropriate aftercare is followed, your brows will sustain no damage. In fact, over time it can actually strengthen your brows because the products that we use contain a blend of vitamin E, Keratin, Biotin, and Argan oil!

Do you sell the kit so that I can try it at home?

No. The first solution that we use in this treatment is a gel that chemically softens the inner structure of the hair. These solutions we purchase for this service are only sold to Licensed Professionals. In addition, our Licensed Aestheticians then take another course specifically certifying them to use these solutions. In good conscience, we cannot recommend that this service is performed by anyone other than a Licensed Professional.

I’m not sure if my eyebrows will be suitable for Lamination, how can I tell?

In order to receive this service, you must have an adequate amount of eyebrow hair. It is still possible to have your brows laminated if you have sparse spots or thinner brows because the Lamination will sometimes remedy this. However, we always recommend booking a brow consultation with us to make sure that we can meet your expectations 🙂
